GWS GIANTS Half Zip Heavy Hoodie. The Greater Western Sydney Giants (GWS) are a relatively young Australian Football League (AFL) team, founded in 2009 and entering the competition in 2012. Their creation was part of an AFL strategy to expand the sport’s presence into the non-traditional Australian Rules football market of New South Wales. Like many expansion teams, the Giants experienced a difficult start in the AFL. They struggled for wins in their early seasons, facing the challenge of building a competitive roster from scratch in a territory dominated by rugby codes.

The team’s colors – orange, charcoal, and white – are unique within the AFL and reflect the vibrant, energetic spirit of their region.
